Verdict

After a successful debut at Newbury, FOX CHAIRMAN met all kinds of trouble in-running in the Dee Stakes at Chester where he finished behind the Ballydoyle pair Circus Maximus and Mohawk. The winner's victory here on Tuesday gave the form an almighty boost so Andew Balding's charge gets the vote, though Aidan O'Brien has Cape Of Good Hope and Old Glory entered. The former looks the pick of the pair having followed a Listed race victory at Epsom with a good fourth in the French Derby at Chantilly. Buckhurst couldn't hold the Ballydoyle-trained Constantinople in the Group 3 Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh but that could turn out to be smart form. King Ottokar ran a shocker in the Chester Vase but that form should be ignored while Sangarius is the type to make rapid strides over this trip.
