      Verdict

2000 Guineas winners have a fine record in this and CHALDEAN (NAP) won in good style at Newmarket when fulfilling the potential of last year’s Dewhurst success. Further progress is expected from Andrew Balding’s colt and he’s just preferred to Paddington. The latter upped his game to land the Irish 2000 Guineas and that looks stronger form than Isaac Shelby’s narrow defeat in the French equivalent at Longchamp. Royal Scotsman, Charyn, Galeron and Indestructible have all been beaten by the market leaders at one point while the unbeaten conditions' race winner Cicero's Gift and novice winner Mostabshir face their biggest tests so far upped to this level.
