In depth

Verdict

All eyes will be on FRANKEL as he takes centre stage for the last time. Sir Henry Cecil's colt is simply a class apart and is fully expected to keep his unbeaten record intact, recording his ninth successive Group 1 victory in the process. Nathaniel has come closer than any other horse to beating him though that was back in 2010 when both were making their racecourse debuts. The latter has also turned into a high-class colt, adding the Eclipse earlier in the season to last year's victory in the King George, but last year's winner Cirrus Des Aigles may handle today's going better given he's at his best with plenty of cut. Pastorius may surprise a few as the German Derby winner has won twice since with a close-up third to the superb filly Danedream in between. He'll also relish the likely soft ground but Master Of Hounds looks up against it and Bullet Train is here to ensure a decent pace for his phenomenal stable companion.
