Verdict
This renewal of the Britania Stakes looks ultra-competitive and we will side with Artimino who can get the better of Slate and Shmookh. This 3-year-old colt from the James Fanshawe yard won well last time when beating Bid For Glory at Newmarket. He remains lightly-raced so he should continue to improve and if he does then he will take the beating here. Slate rates the main danger as he won well last time when beating Danehillsundance and the form of that race has since been franked. He is another that is improving with his racing and he has to be respected. Shmookh was good value for his winning margin at York last time when he beat Ponty Rossa and he could still be very fairly treated so if he continues to improve, and he has with each race so far, then he should be thereabouts. Colorado Rapid won in good style at Pontefract last time so is considered, while De La Grandera is from a yard in good form and he can go well at a price. However, for the winner we will side with Artimino.
