Godolphin and Ballydoyle are likely to lock horns again in this, the powerful operations being responsible for almost all of the likely market leaders between them. Mick Halford’s Irish 2000 Guineas third Irishcorrespondent could spoil the party, however, and Mirage Dancer was very much an eye-catcher behind Epsom Derby runner-up Cliffs Of Moher in the Dee Stakes at Chester, though finished behind Bay Of Poets that day. William Buick rides the latter for the boys in blue here but he’s been gelded since a fair run in the French Derby at Chantilly when just behind Ryan Moore’s mount ORDEROFTHEGARTER (NAP). The Galileo colt needs to reverse that form with Taj Mahal but should do so having met interference. He’d come out well on top when the pair clashed at Leopardstown in April. Benbatl ran a cracker when fifth in the Epsom Derby but the drop back in distance may not be to his advantage. German raider Savile Row is possibly better than his odds suggest but will still do well to reach the frame and Tamleek had every chance when only fourth in the Chester Vase.
