An impossible-looking handicap which has attracted a maximum field. There doesn’t look to be any draw advantage this year with the ground riding fast but a few of the confirmed front-runners are drawn high so a starting position near the stands side could pay dividends. Son Of The Stars had a few of these behind when just touched off by Ronald R on his Turf debut at Newmarket last month. Still unexposed, he can reverse that form with the winner on slightly better terms and is one for the short-list. Stablemate Medahim finished ahead of Hyde Park and reserve Horroob when second at Goodwood but disappointed on his only previous try over a mile. City Of Joy and Tricorn look closely matched on their 1-2 at Chelmsford while Leader's Legacy beat The Grape Escape at Haydock, though is 5lb higher. Another recent Haydock winner, Rusumaat, has been raised 8lb and Jim Crowley prefers the hat-trick seeking Afaak, COLIBRI was just behind The Grape Escape on his only start this season at Sandown. But he was badly hampered inside the final furlong and is slightly better off with this old rival. That form of that race looks solid enough and Hugo Palmer’s colt will strip fitter here and will have the rail to help.
