Not a bad little handicap to conclude the card and one that can be taken by Vamp, with Desert Hawk, Foxilla and Edgehill others to consider. The selection looks capable of defying a 4lb rise for her recent fast ground Bath success, after which trainer Ralph Beckett said she had been crying out for this faster ground. Given that she is still lightly raced and that the yard had been well out of form for a while prior to that, she looks capable of improving enough to go in again this time. Desert Hawk improved for the step up to nine furlongs at Kempton last time, and should improve again for further. Richard Hannon's colt seems to appreciate fast ground and it would be no surprise to see him involved at the death. The same goes for Foxilla, who drops back to 10 furlongs after being found out by further at Windsor last time. 6lb higher than when winning at that track on her penultimate start, she faces a tough enough task but can go well. Of the others Edgehill looks most interesting. Charlie Egerton's runners are going well and the step up to 10 furlongs looks like it could pay dividends if breeding is anything to go by, so watch the market for any confidence from a yard that likes to land a touch. That said, we will side with Vamp to pay for the evening meal.
