Verdict

Richard Hannon is double-handed and obviously has strong claims of yet another juvenile success but Jeremy Noseda's Acclamation colt, TALWAR, made quite an impression when storming up the Sandown hill to land a decent maiden and is well worth chancing on this move into Listed grade. Pearl Charm quickened up nicely to land the odds on his Doncaster debut and this looks a logical next step, whilst the other Hannon contender, Trumpet Major was thought good enough to contest the Coventry Stakes at the Royal meeting. He was hampered that day and could be better than the bare form suggests, having been impressive previously at Goodwood. Comical made all to score at Yarmouth last time and is clearly on the upgrade.
