    Verdict

    Beneventa is interesting on her handicap debut having won with plenty in hand in maiden-company last time but preference is for Low Cloud, who gets the vote over Rebate. The last mentioned came good at the 11th time of asking when winning a Goodwood handicap last time but faces no easy task off a 3lb higher mark here. Piri Piri has been given a chance by the handicapper and holds more solid claims than the Ron Hodges-trained Tender Falcon, who has been held off similar marks recently. Beneventa is difficult to assess following her win at Kempton but looks to have her fair share of weight for what she has achieved and a more solid bet could be Low Cloud. Alec Stewart's colt was good value for his win at Haydock last month and may not have handled the soft ground at Beverley subsequently on his handicap debut. Back on a faster surface and stepped up in trip he looks to be worth another chance.
