Verdict

A fascinating opener where plenty can be given chances and with three-year-olds enjoying a good run in this contest in the past, RAINBOW PEAK is narrowly favoured over Bawadi and Tryst. A winner of a Kempton maiden at big odds, this is a massive step up for the selection though Michael Jarvis has never been one for tilting at windmills in sheer hope. Bawadi won well at Kempton on debut. Jarvis trained the second on that occasion and he has gone on to oblige since in a Warwick maiden. Tryst steps up in trip having campaigned at distances up to a mile. A half-brother to Secret Liaison, he is from a family that improve for a little bit of age. Amanjena obliged in this race last year though Andrew Balding's filly has been a bitter disappointment ahead of this renewal. Charlie Cool is a rare raider from the Ruth Carr team and while he always tries, the handicapper has had his measure for some time hence why claimers and classified stakes are his preferred option. Greylami plugged on well over nine furlongs at Goodwood and will be more at home over this trip. Dubai Crest won off a mark of 83 at Windsor though has been comfortably held since while the remainder have it all to do on recent racecourse evidence. For the winner, we return to Rainbow Peak.
