Verdict

THE SCORCHING WIND is our idea of the winner with Roar Of Applause and Laughing Boy others to catch the eye. Stuart Williams has done a fantastic job with the colt on the artificial surfaces and while his ability to act on turf has to be taken on trust, the horse is definitely running at the peak of his powers. Roar Of Applause is back in blinkers. He looked useful when taking a Windsor handicap though had become difficult to win with off higher marks. Laughing Boy cannot be dismissed despite suffering the ignominy of defeat at odds on at Windsor. The Kieren Fallon factor will see him a popular order in the market. Satwa Laird has finished down the field on previous attempts over this course though has dropped down the handicap of late. Regeneration has been in rude health though is some 14lb higher than when his winning run commenced. Frankie Dettori is a rare jockey booking for the Ed McMahon stable so watch the market with regard to Glowing Praise. Woodlark Island won a bad maiden on the polytrack at Lingfield but with a date at the sales on the horizon - he is sure to be straining every sinew to add to his sales value. Miss Mojito creeps into the handicap proper and has won under today's rider previously. Brief Candle is less exposed than most and having made eyecatching headway on her last start; it would be no surprise to see some improvement this afternoon. Edgeworth made all at Leicester and takes on stronger opposition. The Scorching Wind is accordingly selected.
