In depth
Verdict
Last time out winners Danehill Stroller, Thurlestone Rock and Maddie's A Jem are all likely to have their backers here but preference is for High Reach, who is entitled to strip fitter for his recent return to action. The Terry Mills-trained colt was having his first outing for two months when a respectable third behind Seel Of Approval at Haydock earlier this month and, with improvement to come for that run, he looks worth a bet off a favourable mark. Danehill Stroller has more to do than when winning a classified stakes race at Newcastle last time, as does Yarmouth maiden winner Maddie's A Jem, who did not beat a great deal then and faces a stiffer task here. A bigger threat then may be Thurlestone Rock although a 7lb rise for his success at Lingfield last time looks a little harsh. Michelle Ma Belle, who has slipped to an attractive mark, and John Dunlop's Goodwood Prince are others to consider but we stick with High Reach, who has solid claims.
