Verdict

Method’s defection looks to have left the way clear for SUPREMACY (NAP) to make a winning reappearance. Clive Cox’ colt completed a hat-trick in the Middle Park in the autumn having earlier landed the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and it will be a surprise if he isn’t back here in June for the Commonwealth Cup, for which this is an important trial. Saint Lawrence, a Listed winner last year, ran a cracker under a big weight over 7f at Newbury on his comeback and will handle the drop back in distance. He holds Jumby on two-year-old form but the latter got no sort of run at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago when still finishing ahead of Rohaan. Mighty Gurkha was a useful juvenile who has clearly trained on but he’s never won on Turf and Apollo One is only a handicapper.
