In depth

Verdict

Normandy Barriere has run some decent races over 7f, including one here, but has done all of his winning over shorter. Robero isn’t badly treated and Serena Brotherton rides. She won this in 2010 and 2015 and Carol Bartley, who partners the consistent-but-luckless Call Out Loud, was successful two years ago. Irish lady amateurs have won two of the last four renewals and Lisa O’Neill has a chance this year on Nick Vedder but this contest is usually run at a good pace and that will suit Tim Easterby’s runner GHAYYAR. He’s won twice over a mile this year and Emily Easterby’s 3lb allowance is a real bonus in a race like this.
