In depth

Verdict

Polam Lane showed his liking for fast ground when coming with a late burst to score over the trip at Carlisle, with Elladora four lengths behind, for which he's been raised 4lb. Brazen Belle started the season off a mark of 62 and was 11lb lower when gaining a surprise victory at Ripon. She's 5lb higher but has won off higher marks in the past. Water Of Leith hasn't won since completing a Wolverhampton double in 2020 but has dropped to a fair mark as a consequence. ABEL HANDY missed a race on Saturday for this and is racing in this lowly grade for the first time in a 45-run career so gets the nod to concede weight all round.
