Verdict

Glasses Up, a six-times course winner, would be difficult to beat if repeating a superb run in a much better race than this here last month but was engaged in the 2.52 here yesterday. Throne Hall hadn't shown much this season before a much better run at York where he was only caught in the closing stages after leading into the straight. CHARGING THUNDER made all to score easily over 1m4f at Pontefract then failed to stay 1m6f from his raised mark at York, though he led for a long way and can hang on here. Having won a Class 2 handicap over 1m6f at Haydock in September, Golden Flame is well up to this at his best and has been racing in better company over longer trips.
