      Verdict

      Dark Defender’s close-up fourth here last week came over 6f and Areen Faisal finished a lot closer over the same trip at Doncaster. Merry Banter was placed over today’s distance at Catterick recently but remains 6lb higher than an earlier success at the same track and preference is for PRIMO’S COMET. He finished third over track and trip last time and an apprentice’s claim allows Jim Goldie’s charge to race off the same mark as when successful at Newcastle before that. Rego Park Lady journeys over from Ireland but this looks tougher than her latest task at Navan.
