In depth
Verdict
Not much strength in depth so this may be a straightforward opening for Intend To Leave to get off the mark at the first time of asking. Collect and Highliner are the pick of the opposition with experience, while it will be interesting to note how fellow debutante Scott's Mill gets on. The last named is bred to get a trip and is in the right hands to be found a race somewhere along the line. Mark Johnston's charge is one to note on this occasion. Highliner started his career in France before making an inauspicious start for Lisa Williamson at Carlisle last month. A mark of 70 looks a little harsh for what he has done so far and he is simply one for the notebook on this occasion. The same comments apply to Collect, who has struggled in a couple of handicaps recently and he now looks exposed. Therefore, this looks to be a cherry-picked start for Intend To Leave to gain a confidence booster before going on to better things. The only caveat being that, as a son of Dubai Millennium, the kid clove treatment is likely to be employed for his debut and we are unlikely to see him given too much of strenuous workout on this type of ground though.
