Verdict
Culcabock, Unicorn Reward and Sun Cat look the principles in this novices' hurdle and we will side with the last mentioned. The gelding from the Sue Smith yard has only had four runs over hurdles and ran well enough in a handicap last time behind Tik-A-Tai at Doncaster. He looks open to further improvement and is the one to beat. Unicorn Reward ran well behind Shares at Kelso last time but does not look the most straightforward and for that reason in opposed. Culcabock was further down the field in that same race won by Shares and he struggled under a penalty to reproduce his previous best efforts - so he may do better in handicap races. Middleham Park ran a fair race last time on his hurdling debut but would ideally prefer further, so for the winner we return to the progressive Sun Cat.
