Verdict
Not a strong event and a reproduction of Zoltano's effort over course and distance back in November may be good enough to land this, although he was still in front and going well enough when getting the scond last all wrong at Wetherby last time. A fair handicapper at up to a mile and a half on the flat, Kid'z'play didn't shape too badly here last month, despite taking a fierce grip and being far from fluent at some of his hurdles. At his best on soft ground, he may give the selection most to do if proving amenable to restraint. Monsieur Poirot is open to improvement, but his future looks to lie in handicaps, while a similar comment also applies to Thistle Do. Hurdling debutante Jokesmith was a classy performer on the flat and runs here in preference to Mussleburgh later in the week. A winner on soft ground as a three-year-old, he will have no problems with underfoot conditions here, and if there is a lack of a decent gallop, he could well have too much pace for these.
