In depth
Verdict
A trappy heat to get the meeting underway with most of these exposed as moderate. Win Alot shaped a little better last time, but he is only a plater and it will be a surprise if there is nothing to beat him, while to be a maiden at the age of six, doesn't exactly augur well for Stepastray. Colonnade, who was behind Stepastray here on New Year's Day, is open to improvement as that was her first taste of this surface and she can reverse the form. Toberoe Commotion has shown bits and pieces of form and probably turned in his best effort to date when beaten just over a length by Weecandoo at Lingfield last week. The latter is a 63 rated handicapper so Willie Muir's gelding could be well treated in this off his current mark of 53, although he does have to prove himself on this surface. However, a chance is taken with Parachute, who has obviously been difficult to train. He hails from the same family as the Champion Hurdle winner Royal Gait, so he should have no trouble with this trip and he will have the assistance of Mark Worrell, who is improving with every ride.
