In depth
Verdict
A well contested claimer with several in-form horses. The winner of a seller over course and distance last month, Davos should again go well. He met with plenty of trouble in running that day and showed the right attitude to get his head in front near the finish. He meets Essequibo on 8lbs worse terms here for a neck, so there shouldn't be much between them again. Admiral Fitzroy should be all the better for his recent outing here and should prove the better of the two Dandy Nicholls-trained runners. Sir Night will be happier in this company after struggling in handicaps, but the selection is Blue Venture, who takes a huge drop in class. Off the course for 11 weeks until reappearing here 10 days ago, he will certainly strip sharper for that run and with the useful claimer Dominic Fox taking 7lbs off his back, he is the one to beat.
