Verdict

An intriguing handicap in which preference is for BENNY BE GOOD ahead of Shadow Dancer, Mcmurrough and Ravethebrave. Keith Reveley's gelding has made rapid strides this year and fully deserves his 7lb rise for his latest victory at Haydock. He won on good ground as a bumper horse so this ground shouldn't be a worry and with more improvement to come he should run a big race. Mcmurrough acted better in the mud than some of his rivals at Haydock earlier in the month and in this better race an 8lb higher mark asks more questions, Shadow Dancer drops in grade after disappointing in the Coral Cup and is capable of better, whilst Larks Lad equipped himself well at Sandown last month and looks sure to run well after a months' break. Ravethebrave scored with authority at Kempton and this impressive horse should continue his progression at the back end of this season before making his mark over fences next year. The step up in trip on better ground should suit Tillietudlum, whilst Mudawin has plenty of ability (former Ebor winner) and should relish the better ground on offer this afternoon. He might be an each-way angle on the race if all eight stand their ground, however the win vote goes to Benny Be Good.
