Verdict
This is a tricky race to get the card underway with Delusion given the narrow vote at the main expense of The Fun Merchant, Summer Special and Lucky Largo. The selection hails from the Tim Easterby yard and looked to be running into a bit of form when third behind El Palmar at Thirsk last time. The step up in trip should suit here and with conditions also in her favour she is taken to score. The Fun Merchant is dropped in grade and upped in trip after showing a fair level of form at Warwick last time. This faster surface is a positive and as he is still lightly-raced he could be open to plenty of improvement so has to be respected. Summer Special is dropped in trip which should suit and he could be capable of going well at a big price. Lucky Largo has been a little disappointing of late but is capable of better than he has shown so he could be interesting if the market speaks in his favour. Eizawina Docklands hails from the Nick Littmoden yard and he is another worth a second look in the market in an open affair, but for the winner we return to Delusion who is given the tentative vote.
