Verdict

The market is likely to offer most clues in this affair and we are with China Gold with Knockara Beau and Conflictofinterest put up as the most obvious opposition. China Gold won well at Kempton Park, beating Conflictofinterest, and while that rival does not have to shoulder a penalty this afternoon, with Alan King's string in fair form, we take him to confirm form again. Knockara Beau landed a gamble at Kelso for George Charlton. That race was staged at a decent gallop so there are certainly no grounds to dispute the value of the result. Nicky Richards is mobhanded. The well bred Alan's Legacy, who is owned by Craig Bennett, looks to be the pick of the bunch. Peters Pride is proven on the surface. He can be forgiven that run at Aintree as conditions were markedly different form those previously experienced. Lucinda Russell does not have too many winners in this sphere but the presence of Bracken Lad looks interesting. He has a likeable enough pedigree and is likely to be a decent price. Big Burrows has been supported on two occasions so must be better than his bare form suggests. Teenage Idol was convincingly held under a penalty, finishing behind Lie Forrit, so needs to find something on the book to win this. This is a race for the video and China Gold is the pick.
