Verdict
Jim Goldie's Classlin and the Michael Mullineaux-trained Misterisland both ran better on their most recent starts and have claims but a better bet looks to be MINTURNO, who gets the vote to open his account for the season. Ann Duffield has her string in good form now and not surprisingly the gelding showed improved form at Catterick earlier this month when a close third behind Soto when dropped down to six furlongs and he has an obvious chance racing off the same mark today. John Quinn's Fantasy Fighter has been running consistently well and should be thereabouts again but he could probably do with some help from the handicapper, while Ruth Carr's Klynch disappointed at Pontefract last time and now looks best watched. Peter Monteith's Monte Mayor One is another that looks a shade high in the weights and it is hard to get away from Minturno, who can give Ann Duffield another winner.
