Verdict
The step back to five furlongs may not be absolutely ideal for Airwave but she clearly has the class to cope with the challenges of Autumn Pearl, Curfew and gets confident vote to gain a confidence-boosting success in this Listed contest. Henry Candy's stable star does have a knack of finding herself in a pocket during her races and has sometimes spoilt her chance by starting slowly. However, to counterbalance that, this is her easiest opening for quite some time and it will be very surprising if she cannot pick this lot off one by one. Bali Royal and Forever Phoenix are a couple of others worth mentioning for each-way players, that are looking to fill the frame at fair odds. The former is as tough as they come and will also appreciate the ease in grade. The latter has plenty of ability and proved that she is up to this level when finishing second in a similar contest at Nottingham in May. Her recent starts have created a clouded picture though, and it will take a much improved performance for her to register her first victory on turf today. Proud Boast also has a Listed race victory to her name and, as she hails from a yard back amongst the winners of late, it would be no surprise to see her on the premises this afternoon. However, it will something of a shock if she can resist the finishing kick of Airwave, who is fancied to bounce back with a vengeance today. Autumn Pearl is in good form and is fancied to pose the biggest problems.
