Verdict
Another big betting race and one that go the mercy of Tim Easterby and Artie although Mick Channon has a strong hand with Najeebon and CD Europe. Artie has yet to win this term but he does look to be coming to hand after finishing second at Ripon a couple of weeks ago. His run in the St Wilfrid can be ignored as he was unfavourably drawn and if anything, the handicapper has done us a good turn by dropping him a further 1lb in the handicap. Drawn four, he must have a very decent chance. CD Flyer silenced many doubters with a victory at Goodwood last time out. He remains in good heart this term and is likely to be a popular order in the market. Najeebon is one of the most improved handicappers in training and while the draw of 20 is not ideal; it has not stopped horses from a high draw necessarily getting a sniff of the places. Undeterred could go well from a low-draw at a bigger price. He finished ahead of our selection in the St Wilfrid and his stable are still sending out the winners so another big run will be anticipated. Viewforth has made hay over five furlongs but could be vulnerable to better opposition over this further furlong. Now Look Here showed signs of a return to form at Haydock Park last time out but the draw could have been kinder. Comments that apply to recent winner, Blackheath. In recent times, the prolific number of winners from low-drawn berths cannot be ignored and we stick with Artie to land the Silver Cup.
