        Verdict

        A tightly-knit Listed race in which we will come down on the side of PERKS ahead of Bushman and Lady Deauville. On his way to (hopefully) winning the Cambridgeshire, Perks is fancied to pick up this nice pot of almost 35 thousand pounds. He crushed his rivals recently at Doncaster and as a horse who acts so well on ground like this, he can put these to the sword before the October race. Lady Deauville receives weight all-round and this admirable filly has already added some valuable black type this season by winning Listed races at Bath and Salisbury. Redolent is very consistent but ultimately tends to come up short at this level, Mutajarred has something to prove after two months off but acts on the ground, whilst Wise Dennis has a tough task under his penalty. Bushman is a potential fly in the ointment; David Simcock's progressive colt only found Many Volumes too good last time and that form looks rock solid in the context of this race. Fingers crossed for Perks who can come through this on his way to Newmarket.
