In depth

Verdict

Lucky Violet has been in great form but came off worse in a tussle with Coviglia in a ladies’ race over course and distance last month and is 5lb worse off. Weld Al Emarat is lightly raced for his age and will handle the going. He was returning from another break when second at Chepstow last month but the handicapper is giving CARNAGEO every chance of getting back on track as he is now 10lb lower than when scoring at Haydock a year ago. Glorious Poet is having a first run on Turf for this yard but he does have form on soft going and has dropped a pound since his close third at Kempton so looks worth a second look. Inglorious is another to consider as he’s been knocking on the door and goes well in the conditions and at the track, though is possibly better over 7f.
