Verdict
Tees Components, one of the ante post favourites for the Tote Cesarewitch at Newmarket next month, uses the same trial race here as the stable's Old Red did before winning the race in 1995. A multiple winner in bumpers, he is held in some regard by Mary Reveley but although he appears to be fairly treated, he has been absent since May and it might just be the case that he will need this run to blow away a few cobwebs before Newmarket. It may just pay to side with Persian Lightning, who has bags of stamina on the dam's side of his pedigree and is almost certain to improve for this first attempt at 13 furlongs. He showed when winning at Haydock last time out that he is improving, and there may still be more to come. Conquestadora has done little wrong in two starts this season, and goes well fresh so her absence from the track should not be a worry and she rates a big danger. Mumbling has enjoyed a fruitful season and looks a model of consistency, but he is likely to find this quite a stiff task compared to the races he has been contesting of late. On the other hand, Collier Hill has come up against some very smart rivals in his last three starts and is once again likely to play a major role. Perigeo, from a stable in top form, has bags of scope and could be anything on his handicap debut, so watch out for him in the market.
