    Verdict

    CASTERBRIDGE ran as well as could be expected from a wide draw when fourth in the Lily Anges at Chester. That looks superior form to Denton Dawn's second at Thirsk and Eric Alston's colt gets the nod to open his account. Neither Westhoughton nor Soft Love look anything special on breeding with the former related to a 7f winner and the betting may give the best clue as to their chances.
