Lord Protector is an infrequent winner for one of his ability but to be fair, David Arbuthnot's charge has been running creditably in valuable handicaps all season and should appreciate this easier grade. The four-year-old has a useful turn of foot and this looks his optimum trip. Polar Kingdom remains an interesting contender off his current mark having shaped with promise on both starts this term but Uhoomagoo ran disappointingly behind the selection in the Bunbury Cup and may now be in the handicapper's grip.
