In depth

Verdict

Provost and Distant Pleasure are closely matched on their recent form over course and distance and should be involved but we'll take a chance with RED SKIPPER. The selection comes here in fair form and may well have finished third on his latest start but for meeting interference in the final furlong. He has winning form at this trip and heavy ground form at this track to his name and whilst the handicapper may have his measure the decision to use a talented 7lb claimer could prove to be key. Provost is a pound worse off with Distant Pleasure for a short-head on their running here at the start of the month. The conditions were similar to those forecast for this meeting and there's little to choose between the pair on that evidence. Somerset Falls hasn't appeared to be anything out of the ordinary so far and needs to improve for her first run on heavy ground if she's to challenge the three principals of whom Red Skipper is selected.
