Verdict
Spainkris has a string of creditable efforts in similar company over today's trip to his name this term and is sure to be thereabouts again but may once more have to settle for a minor role with preference for Torkinking, who gets the vote over Bridge Pal. The selection stepped up on novice form when making a winning start to his hurdling career at Newcastle last week and, with further improvement to come, looks worth a bet to follow up off his new mark. Top weight Sea Ferry is gradually dropping to a fair mark but has given little sign of encouragement of late and a bigger threat may come from Bridge Pal, who ran well off today's mark over course and distance two starts ago and has to be respected on that form. Shazal has struggled off his new mark since winning at Kelso last month and is difficult to recommend and of more interest may be Brave Effect. Torkinking could be ahead of the handicapper though and he gets the vote.
