Verdict
The $100,000 son of Fusaichi Pegasus, Almavara, catches the eye here and gets the vote in the opener ahead of Perfect Story. Unless the market tells a radically different story, the Jeremy Noseda-trained selection is certainly of great interest, but Perfect Story, a decent second to Avanti Avanti over course and distance on his latest start, represents a reasonable opponent. Of the others, the David Loder-trained Yo Pedro showed some promise on his debut but, like Contented and Empire Of The Sun, has to improve on that to score here, while the Amanda Perrett and Mark Johnston newcomers, Turner's Touch and Orion Bell, have to be granted respect. However, the one that catches the eye is Almavara and he gets the vote.
