In depth

Verdict

Kingsdon is taken to score in the finale with Bridewell and Smarter Charter the ones likely to give him the most to do. The 7-year-old ran really well from out of the weights in a handicap at Newcastle last week when a game fourth behind Pure Mischief. That run confirmed his well-being and in this easier grade he should take a good deal of beating. Bridewell is another dropped in grade and he should find this much easier than many of his recent assignments. He is certainly capable of going well, but he might be best watched on this occasion. Smarter Charter has to be respected as he has won 9 times in his career. Although he is fit from a spell on the AW he is not getting any younger and the likelihood is that he will find at least one too good. Sir Bond has looked pretty green on his 3 starts to date and he ran-on in encouraging fashion after a slow start at Doncaster last time so he could be worth a second look if the market offers any encouragement, but this should be a fairly straightforward opportunity for Kingsdon who is given the vote.
