Barna Venture has been in very good form over fences all winter and can revert to hurdles on a 22lb lower mark so has to be respected. Percy B Shelley has never won though wasn't beaten far behind Scotch Quay, who was completing a hat-trick, and SILLOGUE PIO (NAP) at Wexford last week. The runner-up is also a maiden over hurdles though that was his first start for Gavin Cromwell and there's likely to be more to come. Our Jerry has returned from a very long break in cracking form having finished runner-up at Ayr before a comfortable victory in a Cork handicap. He's 8lb higher and this looks a slightly better race but it will be a surprise if he's not there at the finish. Devin Desir was beaten eight lengths in that latter event and, though he should get closer, he appears unlikely to turn the tables.
