Verdict

Sole Pretender won a bumper here last May and a Clonmel maiden hurdle later in the year but has a long absence to overcome in what looks a competitive handicap. Ballyneety won a Gowran maiden in November and made his handicap debut at Naas in January where he looked to be travelling easily but didn't quite quicken as expected. Bolbec, twice a winner on the Flat in France, was a 33/1 chance for a Cork maiden last July but won very easily and could well have got in here lightly, though the absence is a concern. Ejayteekay has reappeared after a break in excellent form, following a close third at Naas with an impressive victory at Navan, and looks certain to go well. LA SORELITA has competed at a high level since arriving from France and didn't run badly in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham so could be well enough in to land this, though stable companion Contingency is an interesting contender as she won her first two races in good style before running in two strong handicaps last February.
