Verdict

Carrig Cathal gained his third course victory with a very easy success three weeks ago though he's never impressed over this sort of trip. Pylonthepressure hasn't progressed from his opening victory over fences at Thurles last year and Willie Mullins may have more of a chance with Ask Susan, a winner over 2m6f at Tramore in August, who has been racing over shorter. Swingbridge was at his very best in the Killarney National over 3m2f where his stamina came into play though a 10lb rise makes this tougher. Gordon Elliott also runs the progressive MRS LOVETT, who was only beaten narrowly in a tight finish behind Peregrine Run in a Grade 3 at Killarney and has much the better of the weights here. She's only six and has much more to offer so gets the vote though another of the same age, Landofhopeandglory, is also capable of a big run at these weights. Mac N Cheese would have to be considered if getting a run from his reserve spot after his recent victory over 3m at Punchestown.
