Verdict
A modest amateur riders hurdle to start proceedings and it is a good opportunity for Pilgrims Progress to finally get his head in front, with Bernini and Randolph O'Brien the main rivals. The Phillip Hobbs trained gelding has taken on some top juveniles this campaign and this looks his easiest task to date. The best of his runs so far was a close up fourth behind Salhood at Leicester in January, a repeat of that effort should be good enough today. Bernini hails from a top yard and showed plenty of promise on his debut at Newbury behind Chief Yeoman, however he didn't progress from that effort at Huntingdon next time so he may be best watched this afternoon. Randolph O'Brien is from an in form stable and his first venture into hurdling, when runner up to Dear Dancer, was very promising and he could be the one to bustle up the selection. The newcomers appear nothing special so it should rest between the three form horses and Pilgrims Progress gets the vote.
