In depth
Verdict
Staying is obviously the game here and a few of these have already proved that they have what it takes to go close in a race of this nature. However, nothing makes as much appeal as See You Around, who is holding his form well at the moment and looks to have been found a good opportunity to finally rid himself of the maiden tag this afternoon. The list of dangers is headed by Little Herman, who doesn't have too many miles on the clock for an eight-year-old and is open to more improvement then most of his rivals today. While Southerndown is another that should not be too far away if he runs anywhere near his capabilities and it is hard to see him finishing out of the frame if he negotiates a clear round this afternoon. Whereas Bally Lira will no doubt keep her supporters guessing if she runs her usual race but her tendency to leave herself with too much to do will always make her a risky proposition for win only purposes. The twelve-year-old mare is a previous course and distance winner though, and has a solid chance at the weights today from a 17lb lower mark today. Against her is the fact that she lacks a change of gear and may find See You Around has too much toe for her near the finish. The majority of the rest could also find themselves facing the same scenario and Seamus Mullin's charge is taken to finally grind out a result in his favour this afternoon.
