In depth

Verdict

The combination of a drop in grade and the 5lb claim of Alexander Thorne should boost the claims of William H Bonney. However, despite putting together a sequence of commendable efforts, he hasn't visited the winners enclosure since 2018, although he is now 4lb lower than for that last success. ARMATTIEKAN has landed three of eight starts over fences and all three have come on good ground. He's up 5lb for his latest Market Rasen success but he displayed a telling turn of foot that day and can follow up under optimum conditions. Dog Of War scored on his chase debut earlier this month and this will clearly be his game so he has to enter calculations.
