In depth
Verdict
Mrs Ritchie, Looking Down and Bally¿s Back are the three to look out for in this opener with the vote going to the last named. Bally¿s Back was an impressive two length second of eight at Uttoxeter on his penultimate start and although beaten into fourth place last time out at Southwell was only beaten four lengths and proved he has battling qualities. Although still a maiden after being fully exposed in similar company he only has to reproduce his best effort to score in this ordinary contest. Of the others mentioned Mrs Ritchie is less experienced but put up her best performance to date last time out when a close second at Market Rasen and could be an improver. Any market support for Looking Down should be noted as she did win impressively in selling company on her penultimate start and ran too bad to be true when upped in grade last time out and should run better today. But for the winner we return to Bally¿s Back.
