    Verdict

TINTO was narrowly beaten in a nursery here having won similar events at Brighton and Kempton. He reappeared with a fast-finishing second at the latter track and can get back to winning ways. Paul Nicholls wouldn't have had too many speedy two-year-olds but Whatguy was certainly that last season, scoring over the minimum at Chepstow before running well in a better race at Salisbury. Reticent Angel looked a certain future winner when narrowly beaten at Kempton and got no sort of run in a much better race at Sandown so looks a threat. Tin Hat was conceding 13lb when beaten a length by the selection at Kempton but ran so poorly on his reappearance that he's overlooked.
