In depth
Verdict
Peper Harow was outclassed in the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes but has shown enough in two starts since then in maidens to suggest that she is more than capable of opening her account here but she is far from certain to appreciate the underfoot conditions and preference is for YANZA, who gets the vote ahead of Perfect Friend. The selection stepped up on her debut outing when a creditable second of 16 here behind Happy Forever last month. That was on good to soft ground but the even more testing conditions here should be of no concern to Jonathan Gask's filly and she looks the one they all have to beat. Richard Hannon's Caressing has given little sign of encouragement so far, while Pat Eddery's newcomer Twenty Score is well bred but is also bred to do better on a fast surface being by Lear Fan. Sylvester Kirk's Perfect Friend has shown that she handles some cut in and she has to be considered but preference is for Yanza.
