In depth

UNIVERSAL ORDER will start at prohibitive odds in this despite returning from an absence. David Simcock’s colt made a winning start at Newcastle last year and was beaten by only a nose carrying a penalty at Kempton in October. Today’s opposition have yet to register any worthwhile form though Youarestar should finish closer with a hood and a tongue-tie added and stablemate Narina may do better on this faster ground after struggling at Nottingham on her debut. The remaining pair are even harder to recommend.

Universal Order 13-8 (9-9) Slowly into stride, soon chasing leaders, pushed along over 2f out, led inside final furlong, hard pressed, headed close home, 2nd of 8, shd behind Kheros (9-2) at Kempton 1m stks (6) pol in Oct.

Lady Elysia 100-1 (8-12) Tracked leaders, lost place over 2f out, 13th of 14, 31 1/2l behind La Lune (8-12) at Salisbury 1m 2f fll stks (5) gf in May.

Narina (IRE) 20-1 (9-0) Slowly into stride, towards rear, stayed on from over 1f out, no chance with leaders, 5th of 13, 16 1/2l behind Twist 'n' Shake (9-0) at Nottingham 1m mdn fll stks (5) sft in May.

Pandora's Minder 300-1 (8-11) Raced wide, led after 1f, headed over 2f out, weakened, last of 12, 22 1/4l behind Kirstenbosch (8-11) at Redcar 1m mdn stks (6) gf in May.

Youarestar 9-2 (9-5) Held up in mid-division, pushed along 3f out, well beaten over 1f out, 9th of 10, 11 1/4l behind Apparate (9-5) at Newmarket 1m 2f mdn stks (4) gf in May.
