    Verdict

Bold Diktator gets the call here, with Pink Bay and Heathwood possibly proving to be his biggest dangers. Bold Diktator has already had a good season, winning twice, and he looked like he was holding his form with a strong-finishing fourth at Newbury over seven furlongs last time. With a good draw over today's mile trip, this course and distance winner looks set to go well today. Heathwood's Ayr third last time showed that he can run well from around today's mark, while Simplify made late headway last time and is well-weighted based on last year's winning form. Abide has enough ability to go well but has proven a little disappointing so far in handicap company, while Edge Fund is back to the mark form which he won at Brighton in August and, in a modest race, ought to go well, although his draw could have been kinder. However, Pink Bay, who is drawn even wider, has the edge on him based on seven-furlong Salisbury form of 13 days ago. Madam Caversfield likes it here but her sole win has so far has come in selling grade. Finally, there are one or two of these that have something to prove now or could improve for the step into handicap company from maidens. However, we will side with more tried-and-trusted form and stick with Bold Diktator.
