Verdict

Echoes Of History, a winner over 1m2f at Cork in 2010, has had just six starts on the Flat and didn't reappear until May. He's a rare runner over hurdles for David Wachman and though there's nothing in his pedigree to suggest he'll make a hurdler connections must have confidence in him. Bombadero's close second to Monksland at Navan in December would make him very difficult to beat in this but he's never come close to a repeat and was well beaten on the Flat at Leopardstown on Thursday. Monterrey showed nothing on his debut for Shark Hanlon at Gowran a couple of weeks ago but he'd beaten subsequent top-class hurdler Zarkandar on the Flat at Deauville in 2010 so is one to keep an eye on. THOMAS EDISON is likely to be at short odds and can hardly be opposed. He inflicted the only defeat on subsequent dual Grade 1 bumper winner Champagne Fever at Leopardstown in December and looked set to make a winning debut over timber in a very strong maiden won by Maxim Gorky at Gowran but came down at the second last. Classy Flat performer Zerashan has struggled so far over timber but there's probably more to come.
