In depth

Verdict

The interesting newcomer here is Global City and he is taken to win on his debut at the expense of Total Gallery and Carnaby Haggerston. The selection is well bred being by Exceed and Excel and is related to a number of winners. His connections have picked a below standard maiden for his racecourse debut and he would have to be no world beater to land himself in the winners enclosure first time of asking. Of the runners with experience Total Gallery would be the form pick having run well to finish second in a competitive maiden at Goodwood on his debut and fairing well in the Windsor Stakes at Royal Ascot on his only other outing when finishing sixth of twenty five. He looks well capable of winning races and is definitely one for the short list. Carnaby Haggerston is another with race experience running well on his debut when second of seven at Haydock and ran well enough when placed again at York last time out. He will win races but might find the odd one too good here. So for the winner we return to Global City.
